The Rev. Dr. Tobin E. Wilson attended Bethel College where he received his B.A. in Biblical and Theological Studies in 1984; Trinity Evangelical Divinity School with a Master of Divinity in 1988; and a Doctor of Ministry in 2003 from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA.
Tobin and his wife Dawn have been married for 23 years. Dawn is a Registered Nurse at Highline Hospital in the Day Surgery Department. They have three daughters: Jessica, Katelyn and Madeline. They live in Burien.
Tobin enjoys golf, reading, movies and mobilizing the church for mission. |

We welcome you here!
We are grateful that you have taken the time to consider us as your primary place for spiritual nourishment. We believe that bringing glory to God is at the heart of all we do and are. We seek to accomplish this when we gather as a new community, growing deeper into Jesus, giving ourselves away to one another and going into the world with the transformational message of the love of God in Christ Jesus!
To discover who we are today begins with a commitment to the Word of God. It is this commitment that unites us as God’s peculiar and grace-filled people. We belong to Christ and to each other in order that we can represent Christ as a new community in and to the world.
We’re delighted to have you here and are filled with great anticipation as to how Jesus will grow you. Whether you are curious and questioning or a lifelong follower, there is a place for you at Lake Burien Presbyterian Church. This is a place for families, singles, young adults, those in the prime of life and those in their golden years. Come and worship, stay to learn, become part of a new community to engage the world with and through an intentional faith!
We will not ask you for anything other than to come and sample our vibrant worship, great teaching, Bible studies, small groups, spiritual formation, children’s classes, mission mobilization groups and more.

Greg Sojka
Director of Music Ministries

Greg Sojka, Lake Burien Presbyterian’s Director of Music Ministries since 2001, conducts all choral ensembles, instrumental groups, praise teams, soloists and is regularly featured as a baritone soloist and pianist. While at LBPC, Greg has overseen a variety of musical collaborations featuring some of the finest musicians in the Northwest. Recent collaborations have included Seattle’s Total Experience Gospel Choir, the Kenyan Community Church Choir, the Leggiero String Quartet, Peregrine Medieval Vocal Ensemble (a resident choir at Seattle’s St. Mark’s Cathedral), Elizabeth Brown (Classical Guitar and Lute), and a plethora of professional vocal and instrumental soloists from around the globe. Additional recent musical highlights at LBPC were two concerts by internationally-acclaimed singer-songwriter Steve Bell, and highly successful Tenebrae concerts featuring a festival chorus and professional soloists.
Greg holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in vocal performance (Drake University and the University of Missouri-Columbia), and has led musical worship in a variety of denominations. Growing up, he honed his musical skills at his hometown Presbyterian church in Washington, Iowa.
In addition to his duties at LBPC, Greg teaches on the voice faculty at Pacific Lutheran University and maintains a large private voice studio in the Seattle area. He has been active as an adjudicator and masterclass clinician, working with soloists and choral groups around the Pacific Northwest and the country. As a performer, Greg has sung with Seattle, Tacoma, Kitsap, Dorian, Rainier and Show-Me Opera Companies, as well as with Tacoma Symphony/Master Chorale, Seattle Men’s Chorus and others.

Fa'ana Fanene
Director of Children's Ministries

Fa’ana Fanene is on board as the Director of Children’s Ministries. Fa’ana is a recent graduate from Whitworth University (the former Whitworth College). She received her bachelor degree in English with an emphasis in writing.
Fa’ana has served in many organizations such as the Union Gospel Mission, Young Life, and Campus Ministries at Whitworth College. She is excited now to have the opportunity to work with the kids at Lake Burien Presbyterian Church and the kids from the Burien community.
Fa’ana enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and learning random facts.
